Accounting & Grant Specialist

The Accounting and Grant Specialist provides professional accounting, internal control oversight, and financial management services for the Milwaukee Police Department’s (MPD’s) grants, special assignment reimbursement agreements, Harbor Patrol reimbursements, special purpose accounts, and Special Evidence Funds accounts.

City Payroll Specialist Payroll Assistant 3

Under the direction of the Payroll Manager, the City Payroll Specialist/Payroll Assistant 3 edits, processes, and pre-audits all data required for the proper operation of the City’s Human Resources System (HRMS) – currently Oracle’s Peoplesoft, transitioning to Workday Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System – to ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll payments to approximately 10,000 City employees. The payroll staff in the Comptroller’s Office, including the incumbent in this position, is the final authority ensuring compliance with the provisions of labor agreements and ordinances covering sworn personnel, non-represented personnel, and management.

Community Health Dietitian 1

Under the direction of the WIC Program Manager, the Community Health Dietitian 1 provides nutrition and administrative services for the City of Milwaukee Health Department’s (MHD) Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) special supplemental nutrition program and serves as a lead worker for Community Health Nutritionists, WIC Client Services Assistants, and Breastfeeding Peer Counselors.

Consumer Environmental Health Inspector 2 & Consumer Environmental Health Inspector 1

Under the direction of the Consumer Environmental Health Supervisor, the Consumer Environmental Health Inspector applies environmental and public health control measures to preserve human health, safety, and welfare and to protect consumers from fraudulent practices in all commercial transactions involving determinations of quantity.

Crime And Intelligence Manager

By directing a staff that performs analyses of crime trends, patterns, and series and collects and interprets data and statistics, the Crime and Intelligence Manager has a direct impact on the Milwaukee Police Department’s (MPD’s) geographic commands and investigations and outside agencies.

Customer Service Representative III-Bilingual

As frontline service provider, a Customer Service Representative III-Bilingual (CSR III-Bilingual) ensures customer satisfaction by performing clerical and customer service functions such as responding to inquiries and requests for services via telephone and in person, scheduling service appointments, handling cashiering or teller duties, and providing Spanish-English interpretation and translation for staff and the public.

Doula 1

The Doula 1 identifies families in need and provides home and hospital visitation services for pregnant and parenting City of Milwaukee families.

Electrical Inspector 3

The Electrical Inspector conducts system inspections in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings to ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes.

Engineering Technician IV

The Engineering Technician IV conducts water main replacement, water distribution system repair, and lead service line replacement inspections to ensure compliance with and enforcement of Milwaukee Water Works (MWW) specifications.

Firefighter

Firefighters respond to a wide range of emergencies, performing rescue, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and firefighting duties. Firefighters also operate equipment, maintain equipment and facilities, engage in fire prevention education, pre-fire planning inspections, and carry out other specialized assignments.

Graduate Intern

The Graduate Intern supports the Planning Division of the Department of City Development (DCD) by carrying out a variety of research, analysis, and community engagement tasks related to land use, urban design, zoning, and neighborhood planning and engagement.

Industrial Machine Repair Mechanic 2

The Industrial Machine Repair Mechanic 2 performs preventative maintenance and basic repairs to MWW equipment and facilities, operates equipment to perform snow and ice control, and performs routine duties at outlying booster stations. The incumbent will assist with complex repairs, equipment installation and replacement and troubleshooting electrical, HVAC and automation systems and equipment.

Municipal Services Electrician

The Municipal Services Electrician inspects, installs, services, repairs and maintains electrical equipment for the City of Milwaukee's street lighting, traffic control, water and sewer instrumentation, communication network systems, buildings, and facilities.

Nurse Practitioner

The Nurse Practitioner functions as an independent healthcare provider who works collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team of public health professionals to provide comprehensive care to the clients in an outpatient sexual and reproductive health clinical setting.

Police Officer

Police Officers preserve public peace, protect life and property, work within the community to prevent crime, and enforce ordinances of the City of Milwaukee and the laws of the State of Wisconsin.

Public Health Nurse 1, 2, and 3

Public Health Nurses engage in a variety of population-based and individual nursing activities in homes, schools, clinics and community settings designed to assure that health care is accessible and available to residents. The nursing assignments for this recruitment will be in the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) program.

Public Health Nursing Administrator

The Public Health Nursing Administrator provides leadership and oversight to ensure the safe provision of internal nursing services.

Public Health Strategist - Senior

The Public Health Strategist-Senior provides public health program coordination, expertise, consultation, and technical support to strengthen policies, systems, and community environments that influence health and equity among City of Milwaukee residents. The Public Health Strategist-Senior manages a portfolio of projects related to emerging public health issues, including substance use disorder prevention (e.g., e-cigarettes, opioids, alcohol) or other public health issues as well as provides direct coaching and mentorship to the Health Strategy team members.

Traffic Sign Worker

The Traffic Sign Worker is responsible for maintaining, installing, and replacing traffic control signs within the City of Milwaukee.

Water Customer Services Supervisor

Under the direction of the Water Distribution Operations Manager, the Water Customer Service Supervisor provides daily operational oversite for the Distribution Section Control Center of the Milwaukee Water Works (MWW).

Water Plant Automation Technician

The Water Plant Automation Technician installs, repairs, services, and calibrates process control equipment and instrumentation in the Linnwood and Howard Purification Plants; the North Point, Riverside, Howard, and Texas Pumping Stations; 11 booster stations; and any other locations where the Milwaukee Water Works (MWW) has instrumentation.
