Habitat For Humanity

The people of Milwaukee and the rest of the nation were deeply moved by the huge toll taken by Hurricane Katrina, and many here opened their arms to Katrina evacuees. Ald. Hines encouraged all City of Milwaukee employees to contribute to the "home in a box" campaign of the Milwaukee chapter of Habitat for Humanity which aimed to provide houses to replace some of those destroyed in the hurricane.
