Milwaukee, WI -- Mayor Tom Barrett will declare Friday, November 12, 2004, as "Mr. Diabetes Day" in honor of Andrew P. Mandell.  The 57 year old Mandell is a diabetic and insulin dependent.  He is also Executive Director of the Defeat Diabetes Foundation, Inc.  He is undertaking an epic walk, some 10,000 miles, across the United States to raise awareness about the dangers of diabetes.  Mandell will hit the 6,000 mile mark when he comes to Milwaukee.
