Police District Changes Do Not Affect the 9th Aldermanic District
On Thursday June 4th Police Chief Edward Flynn presented the Common Council’s Public Safety Committee with his proposed plan to re-draw MPD police districts and to change some personnel assignments. The districts were re-drawn with intention of reducing the levels of crime, fear, and disorder through community-based, problem-oriented, and data-driven policing and were implemented in early July. The Police Chief has sole authority to implement the re-districting. To view the MPD’s re-drawn district borders, please click here.
The proposed Police district boundary changes do not affect the 9th Aldermanic District; the 9th Aldermanic District is still entirely in Milwaukee Police District 4. The commander of the 4th District is Captain Jerome O’Leary and the Community Liaison Officers are Officer Julie Strache and Officer Latunya Meredith. Officer Meredith is now working with the block watch program.

Granville Station Has New Owners
Granville Station (the former Northridge site) has recently been sold to U.S. Toward Enterprise Group, Inc. located in Germantown, Maryland. The company has both U.S. and Chinese investors.
The Department of City Development (DCD), through comprehensive planning with stakeholders and consultants, determined that this site should be a mixeduse redevelopment that would include housing, neighborhood retail, and perhaps some office or back-office use. DCD officials are currently contacting the new owners in order to meet and discuss possible plans for redevelopment at this location.
