The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) had scheduled two public informational meetings to present the preliminary design for the WIS 24 (Forest Home Avenue) project. The meetings were held on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, and Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Maple Grove Elementary School Cafeteria, 6921 Coldspring Road in Greenfield. The meetings were conducted in an open house format from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Guests could attend the meeting on either day at any time between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to view the displays and share comments and concerns. The same information was presented at both meetings.

The project begins just north of US 45 and extends about 5 miles north to 45th Street. The project will include improvements at the signalized intersections, resurfacing the existing roadway and replacement of the decks on the three bridges over I-43/894. The exit ramp from WIS 24 (Forest Home Avenue) to Layton Avenue will also be closed permanently as part of the project.

Persons who were unable to attend the meeting can contribute comments about the project by contacting WisDOT Project Manager Doug Cain by mail at WisDOT Southeast Region, 141 Northwest Barstow Street, Waukesha, WI 53187 or by phone at (262) 548-5603 or by email at douglas.cain@dot.state.wi.us.
