COLD CASE # 1 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: VANESSA R. NIMOX

OCCURRED: 09/20/2002

Milwaukee Police need your help to solve the homicide of Vanessa R. Nimox. Nimox, 39, was shot to death on Friday, September 20, 2002 at 10:30 p.m. at 4130 N. 35th Street while she sat in the front passenger seat of her husband’s 1998 blue Oldsmobile Achieva 4-door auto. Her husband was driving and a male friend was seated in the back seat.

The couple had just left their residence in the 2400 block of N. 24th Street and were driving their friend home. They were driving northbound on N. 35th Street. Seconds after crossing W. Capitol Drive, numerous shots were fired into the passenger side of the vehicle. Nimox was the only one struck by the bullets and she died as a result of her wounds.

Witnesses told police that gunshots came from a dark red Oldsmobile ’98 or a Delta ’88, box-style, short body, 4-door auto that was driving past the victim’s car in the same direction.

The victim had three teenage children at the time of her death. Those children continue to call Detectives constantly for information and those working on the case hope someone out there remembers something that may help us give this family closure and get some dangerous criminals off the street.

     

 

 

COLD CASE # 2 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: ROBERT L. BLACKSTONE

OCCURRED: 06/19/2005

Homicide of Robert L. Blackstone, WM DOB 7-6-32 of 5844 N. 76th St.

On Sunday, June 19th, 2005 family members of the victim arrived at Robert Blackstone's residence, where he lived alone, because they were concerned about not hearing from him for over a week.  He had been invited to a niece's home for a Father's Day Picnic, and when he did not appear, the family went to his home to check on him.  They found the door to his apartment open and slightly ajar, and found the victim deceased from a gunshot wound to his head.  This may have been a home invasion robbery that went bad.

     

 

 

COLD CASE # 3 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: RHONDA HARTWRIGHT

OCCURRED: 01/14/1990

Homicide of Rhonda Hartwright, BF, DOB 3-12-1963 of 2127 W. Vlliet St.

On Sunday, January 14, 1990 at 6:45 AM, the body of Rhonda Hartwright was found deceased lying on a sidewalk outside of an apartment building at 1535 N. 20th St, a residence she had just previously entered. Upon leaving this residence, Rhonda was shot in the head.

     
 

COLD CASE # 4 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM:  BALJIT SINGH

OCCURRED:  11/24/2004

Homicide of Baljit Singh, IM, DOB 2/20/74 of 2616 W. Wisconsin Avenue.

On Wednesday November 24, 2004 at 4:30 AM, Milwaukee Police were dispatched to the report of a shooting at the JNH Gas and Food Mart at 2514 N. 27th St.  Upon their arrival, they found this victim lying in a pool of blood on the floor just inside of the front entrance door and was deceased from gunshot wounds.  Mr. Singh had just gotten off the telephone with a friend, telling this friend he was going outside to sweep the front entrance.  We believe Mr. Singh died during a robbery attempt.  (No photo available -- no family members in US). 

     
 

COLD CASE # 5 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: MARVIN T. BLOUNT

OCCURRED: 03/11/2005

Homicide of Marvin T. Blount, BM, DOB 8/13/1959 of 2320 W. Vine St.

On Friday, March 11, 2005 at 2320 W. Vine St., Marvin Blount's deceased body was found inside the doorway of his residence with gunshot wounds to his head. His body was found by two small children who lived inside that residence. It appeared Mr. Blount was answering his door when suspect/s shot him. 

     
 

COLD CASE # 6 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: LOUIS HILL

OCCURRED: 06/14/1997

Homicide of Louis Hill, MB, DOB 6/13/1973 of 5200 N. 57th St.

On Sunday, June 14, 1997 at approximately 4:40 AM, Mr. Hill was traveling in an automobile with friends westbound on W. North Avenue. He had just left some friends, after celebrating his birthday. While traveling on W. North Avenue at approximately N. 39th St., Mr. Hill observed two victims, whom he believed to be pastors, being robbed in the middle of the street by two suspects. he attempted to stop this robbery and was shot in the head by one of two actors who fled the scene on foot. 

     
 

COLD CASE # 7 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: RUTHIE ANN BROWN

OCCURRED: 02/23/1997

Homicide of Ruthie Ann Brown, BF, DOB 10-29-1963 of 3445B N. 20th St.

On Saturday, 2/23/1997 in the early morning hours, Ruthie Ann Brown left her residence as a passenger in her friend's automobile to go the Citgo Gas Station located at 19th and W. Hopkins St. to buy some food. While on the gas station lot, as her friend paid for items at the cashier counter, a suspect entered the driver's side of the auto and drove off the lot holding Ms. Brown at gunpoint inside the vehicle. Two hours later, the victim was found in the backseat of that same automobile, at the rear of 3043 N. 20th St., deceased from a gunshot wound to the head.

COLD CASE # 8 - HOMICIDE(S)

VICTIM: PAULINE THOMAS & DELORES THOMAS

OCCURRED: 11/29/1998

Homicides of Pauline THOMAS, BF DOB 1/24/198 of 9960 W. Fond du Lac Avenue and her sister Delores T. THOMAS, BF DOB 5/101972 of 2424 W. Keefe Ave.

On Sunday, November 29, 1998 at 5:55 PM, Pauline Thomas and Delores Thomas were seated at the top of a stairway at 9948 and W. Fond du Lac Ave waiting for a bus to take Delores home. Delores had been visiting her family over the Thanksgiving weekend and was going back home. Pauline Thomas agreed to wait with her sister at the bus stop, which was located directly in front of their residence. While sitting at the top of the stairs, a suspect came from behind these victims, firing gunshots at both of them. Delores was pronounced deceased from her gunshots wounds on the scene, while Pauline later died during surgery.

     
 

COLD CASE # 9 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: KOUNKA S. PASKALEVA

OCCURRED: 02/07/1997

Homicide of Kounka S. Paskaleva, WF, DOB 7/5/1961 of 1819 N. Cambridge Ave.

On Friday, 2/7/1997 the deceased body of Ms. Paskaleva was found inside her apartment at 1819 N. Cambridge Ave. . She had been strangled and her throat was cut. Ms. Paskaleva had come from Bulgaria to earn money to bring her family to the United States in order for them to have a better life. We believe the suspect was someone she knew.

     
 

COLD CASE # 10 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: STEVE A. TRAINDL

OCCURRED: 10/05/1988

Homicide of Steve A. Traindl, WM, DOB 8/20/1958 of 3025 N. 39th St.

On Wednesday, October 5, 1988, the parents of Mr. Traindl went to his home at 3025 N. 39th st, looking for him because he did not show up at work earlier that day. Upon entering the victim's residence, they found their son deceased in the living room of his home, beaten and stabbed. Numerous items of Steven's property had been taken, as well as his automobile, which was later recovered in Indiana.

     
 

COLD CASE # 11 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: DONNA I. WILLING

OCCURRED: 02/26/1970

On February 26, 1970 at approximately 5:15 PM, Donna I. Willing, DOB 9-18-60, left her home at 2106 N. 33rd St. to go to Grebe's Bakery on N.35th and W. North Avenue to buy a loaf of bread for her mother. She never made it to the bakery, and her lifeless body was found in a garage in the 2400 block of N. 51st Street approximately an hour later. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled.

     
 

COLD CASE # 12 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: NANCY LYNN RADBIL

OCCURRED: 07/06/1979

On 7-6-1979 at 5500 N. Lovers Lane Rd, the body of Nancy Lynn Radbil DOB 10-5-60 was found in a wooded area long a bike path of the Menomonee River Parkway, three days after her family reported her missing. She had been sexually assaulted and suffered other traumatic injuries.

     
 

COLD CASE # 13 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: JAY T. PAVLETICH

OCCURRED: 08/13/2005

On August 13, 2005, Jay T. Pavletich, DOB 12-31-63, was found deceased in his fenced-in front yard, suffering numerous gunshots wounds to his body. Neighbors had reported hearing an argument at that location several hours earlier. Two suspects were seen fleeing the area after the shots were fired.

     
 

COLD CASE # 14 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: CURTIS LEWANDOWSKI

OCCURRED: 04/18/1990

On Wednesday, April 18, 1990, the body of Curtis Lewandowski was found in the third-floor unit of the triplex he lived in at 732 S. 28th Street, suffering from smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning. A fire to his triplex had been intentionally set, and two mattresses had been propped up against the only entrance and exit for the victim to leave. Curtis was 29 years old.

     
 

COLD CASE # 15 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: VERNELL JETER

OCCURRED: 02/18/1990

On February 18, 1990, the body of Vernell Jeter DOB 5-17-44 was found inside her residence deceased. She had been strangled to death. Several persons who had visited Ms. Jeter prior to her death indicated she was upset and angry with someone over a money dispute, but this person had never been identified.

     
 

COLD CASE # 16 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: Beth E. Buege

OCCURRED: 06/03/90

Beth was found deceased inside of her 1985 Plymouth Laser automobile at 4943 N. 49th Street on June 3, 1990. She had been strangled to death. She had spent the night at her boyfriends house and left there in the early morning hours.

     
 

COLD CASE # 17 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: Stephanie Casberg

OCCURRED: 07/09/69

Stephanie's dismembered body was found on the south side of the Root River at the Racine/Milwaukee County line, near a bridge just west of I-94 on July 9, 1969. She was last seen leaving work at Marc's Big Boy Restaurant on N. Van Buren Street in Milwaukee in the early morning hours of July 7, 1969.

     
 

COLD CASE #18 - HOMICIDE

VICTIM: Terri L. Erdmann

OCCURRED: 06/24/71

Terri was discovered at N5900 W9950 in the City of Milwaukee in a wooded area near railroad tracks. Terri had been sexually assaulted and died as a result of numerous stab wounds. The area where Terri was found was behind the old "Moreway" store located at 10100 W. Appleton Avenue. Other assaults had taken place at that location and that suspect may be the same individual who killed Terri.

     
   

COLD CASE #19 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Clinton Hardiman

OCCURRED: 04-28-02

Clinton was discovered lying on the ground at 1926 W. Nash Street by Milwaukee Police officers who responded to the area for the report of shots fired. Clinton was deceased as a result of numerous gunshot wounds. Clinton had frequented the "Catfish Lounge" at 3646 N. Teutonia, where he had an altercation with other patrons just prior to the shooting.

     
   

COLD CASE #20 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Cheryl Lynn Six

Occurred: 09-26-77

Cheryl was found deceased inside the elevator of an apartment building at 2919 W. Wisconsin Avenue. Cheryl left the apartment of some family members at 10:45 p.m. to catch a bus back to her apartment on Milwaukee's east side. Cheryl's body was discovered in the elevator by a tenant in the building at 11:30 p.m. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled. 

     
   

COLD CASE#21 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Ricky D. Blackmore

Occurred: 03-14-99

Ricky was found dead inside of a 1986 Ford Bronco at 2160 N. 30th Street at 9:10 a.m. on March 14, 1999. Ricky died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

     
   

COLD CASE #22 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Alex G. Gilmore

Occurred: 02-02-06

Alex was found deceased at 1021 W. Keefe Avenue at 1:30 a.m. He was laying in the street. Witnesses reported that Alex was shot multiple times. Alex fell to the ground and was then struck by a white sport utility vehicle. Alex was known in the neighborhood for selling DVD's and CD's out of the trunk of his car in the area of N. Teutonia Ave. and W. Capitol Dr. He was 42-years-old at the time of his death.

     
   

COLD CASE #23 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Jon G. Seidl

OCCURRED: 10-19-88

Jon was found in front of his residence at 4981 N. 85th Street. He was suffering from a single gunshot wound to his chest. Jon was was returning home from UWM where he was a computer engineering student. He was walking southbound on on N. 85th Street from a bus stop on W. Villard Avenue when he was shot. The suspect may have fled into Vogal Park via a walkway that parallels Jon's residence. Jon later died as a result of the gunshot wound. He was 22-years-old.

     
   

COLD CASE #24 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Katherine Ann Chirpke

OCCURRED: 03-09-80

Katherine was last seen leaving Ginny's Tavern at 645 N. 7th Street between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on March 8, 1980. Early the next morning her body was found in the rear yard off of an alley at 1021 N. 21st Street. Investigators believe that Katherine was not killed at this location, but that her body was placed there. She died as a result of ligature strangulation. Katherine was 23-years-old.

     
   

COLD CASE #25 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Mary Lee Harris

Occurred: 09-07-93

Mary's body was found in a garbage cart at N. 10th St. and W. Meinecke St. by sanitation workers. Family members had reported Mary missing on August 29, 1993. Mary was strangled to death. She was 29-years-old.

     
   

COLD CASE #26 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Juan Ricardo Soward

Occurred: 07-25-05

Juan was found on the sidewalk in front of 2473 N. 35th Street at 2:00 a.m. Juan died as a result of gunshot wounds. He was last seen around midnight at Bill & Pat's Tavern at N. 52nd St. and W. Hampton Ave. Juan was 48-years-old.

     
 

Cold Case #27 - HOMICIDE

Victim: James S. Jenich

Occurred: April 25, 1989

James left his work at the YMCA in Greenfield on December 15, 1988. His auto was later found abandoned at the Budget Cinema on Highway 100. James' body was found floating in the Kinnickinnic River near Skipper Bud's Marina on April 25, 1989. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. James was 35-years-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #28 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Lillian B. Birkley

Occurred: 09-18-06

Lillian's body was found in the boarded up building at 2456 W. Center Street after an anonymous caller alerted officers. Lillian was found lying in a first-floor room. She had suffered blunt force trauma to her body and died as a result of manual strangulation. Lillian was 39-year-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #29 - HOMICIDE

Victim: German Santiago-Castro

Occurred: 06-08-01

Shortly after 11 p.m., German left the Puerto Escondido Restaurant at 1116 W. Historic Mitchell Street when he was confronted by a subject that he had argued with inside while shooting pool. The suspect fired one shot at German from a short-barreled shotgun. German died as a result of the gunshot wound. The suspect was seen fleeing northbound from the scene. German was 37-years-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #30 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Shawn "Chuck" M. Wojtesky

Occurred: September 20, 2002

Milwaukee Police officers discovered Shawn's lifeless body around midnight behind the KFC restaurant at S. 16th and W. Mitchell after responding to a "shots fired" call. Shawn was suffering from numerous gunshot wounds. He had left his girlfriends house near S. 25th and W. National around 9 p.m. to run an errand. He was 18-years-old.

     
 

Cold Case #31 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Frederick P. Nickols

Occurred: 07-31-03

Frederick was found in the early morning hours in at 2729 N. 38th Street when a citizen was pulling is car out of his garage and noticed Frederick's body laying in the alley. He was deceased, suffering from multiple wounds. Frederick lived in the area, and was last seen by family members leaving his home at 10:30 p.m. the prior evening. Frederick was 44-years-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #32 - HOMICIDE

Victim: John H. Jackson

Occurred: January 14, 2005

John was the owner of J&J's Bar at 2544 W. Fond du Lac Ave. He was shot and killed during an armed robbery at the tavern. He was 75-years-old

 

     
 

COLD CASE #33 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Loydell Jackson

Occurred: February 5, 1997

Milwaukee firefighters found Loydell's body after extinguishing a garbage cart fire in the rear of 2426 N. 45th Street. Loydell's dismembered body was inside of the cart. He was 37-years-old.

 

     
 

COLD CASE #34 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Brandon O. Roberson

Occurred: January 4, 2006

Officers were dispatched to the report of a shooting at N. 35th Street and W. Clark Street at 10:45 p.m. When the officers arrived they found Brandon lying on the sidewalk. He was deceased as the result of multiple gunshot wounds. He was 19-years-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #35 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Dominic S. Booker

Occurred: April 25, 2004

Officers were sent to the report of a shooting at N. 2nd Street and W. Ring Street at 1:55 a.m. The officers found Dominic shot to death, lying in the street. Dominic had just left the nearby Glass Slipper Tavern. Dominic was 21-years-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #36 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Romero Williamson

Occurred: June 1, 1989

Romero's decomposed body was discovered hidden in a wooden ash box behind 3100 W. State Street. His death was the result of a homicide. Romero's family had reported him missing in April of 1989. He was 24-years-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #37 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Riley W. Campbell

Occurred: May 4, 1971

Taxicab driver Riley Campbell was shot during a robbery after picking up a fare near N. 11th Street and W. Atkinson Avenue. Riley's cab then crashed into a house at 3306 N. Palmer Street. The suspect was injured in the crash, but was able to flee the scene. Riley died several days later. He was 43-years-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #38 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Theodore C. Bunzell

Occurred: October 31, 1995

Theodore was driving eastbound on W. Finn Place when a car traveling on N. 11th Street blocked in his car. Two suspects exited their car and fired several gunshots into Theodore's car, killing him. He was 32-years-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #39 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Corey D. Campbell

Occurred: January 11, 2005

Officers came across Corey's body in the 5200 block of N. 35th Street while on patrol at about 1:45 a.m. on January 11, 2005. He was laying in the roadway. Corey had been shot in the chest, and he died as a result of his injuries. Corey had just left the Cheetah Club located in the area of N. 35th Street and W. Villard Avenue. Investigators believe that he may have been the victim of a robbery. Corey was 25-years-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #40 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Ophelia A. Preston

Occurred: October 22, 1994

Ophelia's body was found in a city garbage cart at the rear of 1746 N. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. She had been strangled to death. Ophelia was 24-years-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #41 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Yvonne R. Reynolds

Occurred: September 1, 1995

Yvonne's body was found inside of her home at 2628 N. Richards St. by family members who were concerned about not hearing from her in two weeks. She was strangled to death. Yvonne was 41-years-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #42 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Robin L. Abston

Occurred: November 22, 2000

Robin allowed someone into his home at 4155 N. 13th Street. At about 5:00 a.m. his 11-year-old son heard a commotion. He came downstairs and found his father deceased from a gunshot wound. Robin was 43-years-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #43 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Marie Antoinette Smith

Occurred: August 3, 1986

Marie's body was found floating in Northridge Lakes at 9036 N. 75th Street. She had been strangled to death. Marie was 18-years-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #44 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Michael Caliva

Occurred: June 12, 2004

Michael was working at the Cigarette Depot at 2701 N. 76th Street the morning of June 12 when a suspect entered the store and robbed it. Michael was shot to death during the robbery. He was 42-years-old.

     
 

COLD CASE #45 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Leslie A. Sorenson

Occurred: June 30, 2006

Leslie was killed during a robbery inside of his store, the Celebrity Coin Shop at 4161 S. Howell Avenue. Responding officers found Leslie unconscious, suffering from injuries to his head. He later died at the hospital. Leslie was 64-years-old.

     
 

Cold Case #46 - Homicide

Victim: Terence R. Robinson

Occurred: October 25, 1998

It was shortly after midnight near N. 33rd Street and W. Cherry Street when Terence was shot multiple times while seated inside of his 1991 blue Ford Explorer. He died as a result of his wounds. It appears Terence was the victim of a robbery. He was 41-years-old.

     
 

Cold Case #47 - Homicide

Victim: R.B. Jones

Occurred: August 15, 1998

At about 1 p.m., R.B. Jones was crossing the street with a friend at 625 W. Locust Street when he was struck by a vehicle, causing fatal injuries. The vehicle was described as a late 1970's or early 1980's brown Oldsmobile 98. The driver fled without rendering aid. R.B. was 46-years-old.

     
 

Cold Case #48 - Homicide

Deanne M. Williams

Occurred: September 19, 2002

Deanne Williams was found deceased in her apartment at 1818 W. Highland Boulevard #1015 on Thursday, September 19, 2002. Deanne was 38-years-old.

     
 

Cold Case #49 - Homicide

Victim: Tracie A. Nack

Occurred: November 4, 1995

Tracie Nack was found beaten and strangled inside of her apartment at 2922 W. Wells Street on November 4, 1995. Some of Tracie's property was missing. She had moved to Milwaukee from Manitowoc earlier in the year and was working two jobs. Tracie was 18-years-old.
 

     
 

Cold Case #50 - Homicide

James A. Aldridge

Occurred: March 6, 1996

James Aldrridge was shot to death on March 6, 1996 after an argument in the street in the 2500 block of N. 16th Street. Witnesses saw a dark brown 1985-1987 Pontiac Grand Prix with tinted windows flee the scene. James was 30-years-old.
 

     
 

Cold Case #51 - Homicide

Calvin Davis

Occurred: July 2, 2006

On Sunday, July 2nd, 2006, at 1:14p.m., Calvin Davis was driving a silver 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix in the 2900 block on North Buffum St. when he was involved in a traffic altercation with the occupant(s) of another vehicle. During the altercation Calvin was shot and killed. After the shooting, the vehicle Calvin was driving came to rest at 225 E. Burleigh St. The suspect vehicle was described as being a dark green 1990’s model vehicle with dark tinted windows. The vehicle had a round body style and was possibly a Cadillac. Calvin was just 24 years old at the time of this death. 
 

     
 

Cold Case #52 - Homicide

Jasper Ricks

Occurred: October 27, 2003

Jasper Ricks was shot and killed on October 27, 2003 while sitting in his car in the 3300 block of W. Park Hill Avenue. Jasper was 33-years-old at the time of his death.
