COLD CASE # 1 - HOMICIDE VICTIM: VANESSA R. NIMOX RACE/SEX: B/F OCCURANCE: 09/20/2002 NARRATIVE: Milwaukee Police need your help to solve the homicide of Vanessa R. Nimox. Nimox, 39, was shot to death on Friday, September 20, 2002 at 10:30 p.m. at 4130 N. 35th Street while she sat in the front passenger seat of her husband’s 1998 blue Oldsmobile Achieva 4-door auto. Her husband was driving and a male friend was seated in the back seat. The couple had just left their residence in the 2400 block of N. 24th Street and were driving their friend home. They were driving northbound on N. 35th Street. Seconds after crossing W. Capitol Drive, numerous shots were fired into the passenger side of the vehicle. Nimox was the only one struck by the bullets and she died as a result of her wounds. Witnesses told police that gunshots came from a dark red Oldsmobile ’98 or a Delta ’88, box-style, short body, 4-door auto that was driving past the victim’s car in the same direction. The victim had three teenage children at the time of her death. Those children continue to call Detectives constantly for information and those working on the case hope someone out there remembers something that may help us give this family closure and get some dangerous criminals off the street. Anyone with information is asked to call Milwaukee Police at 414-935-7360. Please mention you saw the profile of this case on the Milwaukee Police Department’s Web site under “Cold Case Unit.”
