PUBLIC RECORDS NOTICE
DESCRIPTION OF ORGANIZATION
Under sec. 3-03 of the Milwaukee City Charter, the City Attorney shall conduct all of the law business of the corporation and of the departments thereof and all other law business in which the City shall be interested when so ordered by the Common Council. He shall, when required, furnish written opinions upon subjects submitted to him by the Mayor, Comptroller, any committee of the Common Council, any other department of municipal government or of the Milwaukee Board of School Directors. He shall keep a docket of the cases to which the City may be a party in any court or record. It shall also be the duty of the City Attorney to draft ordinances, bonds, contracts, leases, conveyances, and other such instruments of writing as may be required by the business of the City; to examine and inspect tax and assessment rolls, to act as prosecutor of municipal ordinance violations, and to perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the Charter and the ordinances of the City.
The City Attorney maintains three offices: one on the 7th Floor and one on the 10th Floor, Municipal Building, 809 N. Broadway, and one in the Police Administration Building, Suite 205, 951 North James Lovell Street, Milwaukee. The “local public office” positions include the City Attorney and three Deputy City Attorneys.

PUBLIC RECORDS MAY BE OBTAINED
The public may obtain access to or copies of the City Attorney’s public records by making an oral or written request of the City Attorney, or his designee, during regular office hours, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, holidays excluded. Written requests may be made to Mr. Grant F. Langley, Office of City Attorney, 200 E. Wells St., Suite 800, Milwaukee, WI, 53202; or in person at the Municipal Building, 809 N. Broadway St., 7th Floor.
The City Attorney’s Office charges $.25 per page for each copy made. There will be an additional fee for location costs if the costs are $50.00 or more. Additional charges may be added as required to cover the costs of complying with the request. Requests which exceed a total cost of $5.00 may require prepayment. All requests will be processed as soon as practicable and without delay.
If the City Attorney is not present, information and access to records may be obtained from Deputy City Attorneys Rudolph M. Konrad, Linda Uliss Burke, or Vincent D. Moschella, who are authorized to act as legal custodians in the City Attorney’s absence.
