Public Budget Hearing 

Mayor Tom Barrett invites you to attend the 2008 Public Budget Hearing regarding the City's 2009 Requested Budget on Tuesday, July 29,  5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Park Senior Center, 4420 W . Vliet St. Free parking in lot adjacent to the senior center.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Registration Deadline for Applications

FEMA has announced the registration deadline for Wisconsin residents and businesses to apply for federal assistance for costs incurred to last month’s flooding is August 13th .   In order for residents to qualify for federal assistance, they must register by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or at www.fema.gov by August 13th. 

Milwaukee Residents May Qualify for Federal Assistance

Under FEMA Disaster Declaration

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett is assisting Milwaukee residents eligible to apply for federal funds being made available to those affected by the recent flooding in Milwaukee County. Individuals may qualify for financial assistance under the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Individual and Households Program. Local businesses with storm damage may qualify for assistance from the Small Business Administration disaster program.  Register by calling 1-800-621-FEMA or online at www.fema.gov .

Milwaukee Area Development Plans

Check out Area Planning for all 99 square miles of Milwaukee . Area Plans guide future neighborhood development and identify future catalytic projects. The Department of City Development works with the public to create comprehensive area plans. Work is also underway on a Citywide Policy Plan to guide citywide strategies on a broad range of issues, including economic development and transportation, in each of the planning areas. The public is invited to participate in the planning for Milwaukee.
