10-16-09 Milwaukee County Sheriff's Sergeant Arrested

 

 

This morning a 34-year-old motorist arrested for outstanding warrants complained that he had been battered by a sheriff’s deputy. Sheriff Clarke immediately ordered an investigation into the matter. The investigation revealed evidence that corroborates the complainant’s accusation. After being briefed by investigators, Sheriff Clarke ordered that the sheriff’s deputy be arrested.

 

The 38-year-old deputy, who is a sergeant, has been employed by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office for 15 years. He is placed on suspension. Two other sheriff’s deputies have been placed on administrative duty as a result of this investigation. The case will be reviewed by the District Attorney's Office for charges. An internal investigation is also underway. No further information will be made available until the District Attorney’s Office review is completed.
