A series of public interactive workshops in January allowed residents of the 5th District the opportunity to share their ideas on the future of the northwest side and provide helpful input for the city's Northwest Side Comprehensive Area Plan. For several months the city has gathered background information through research, community surveys, stakeholder interviews and focus groups, and is now taking what has been learned and using that information to create a vision and plan for the future.

Ald. Bohl had joined community members and other elected officials from the northwest side in asking the city to give priority to the rapidly changing landscape in the area, and to update the previous development plan to reflect the current and future needs of the northwest side.

The Department of City Development is currently reviewing all the information from the public hearings and workshops and will develop recommendations in the form of a draft report that is expected by this summer.
