MFD Honor Guard

The Milwaukee Fire Department Honor Guard was established in 1996. The Honor Guard honors the fire service and MFD fallen firefighters. The MFD Honor Guard is a small group of highly trained and experienced members on the department, who provide a remarkable ceremonial detail for MFD funerals, wakes, memorials and flag presentations. The group offers special attention and support to grieving family members, department members, and the community.

 

Annually, the Honor Guard orchestrates 50 events. Many of those events include retirees’ funerals, line-of-duty deaths, recruit graduations, parades, and other MFD events. The Honor Guard’s primary focus is to honor members of the Milwaukee Fire Department; however, the group has been involved with funerals and memorials for other fire departments across the nation.

 

The MFD Honor Guard also participates in color presentations for the Milwaukee Mustangs, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin State Fair, WKLH Christmas Program, Irish Fest, German Fest, and the Highland Games.
