Currently, the 2008 Milwaukee Fire Department recruitment period is over. The next recruitment effort is to be determined. However, we strongly encourage those interested in a career in fire service to further their education in the field. Two Milwaukee-area technical colleges offer two-year associate degrees in fire science: Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) and/or Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC).

Additionally, The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh offers a Bachelor's Degree in Fire and Emergency Response Management.
