The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides confidential help to city employees and their families and deals with issues related to stress, depression, alcohol/drugs, gambling, emotions, conflict, domestic violence, family, and finances.
EAP Mission It is the mission of the City of Milwaukee Employee Assistance program (EAP) to assist City of Milwaukee employees who develop behavioral/medical problems that may directly affect their work performance and to provide key personnel (supervisors, managers, union representatives) with policy and procedural guidelines for the management of these problems.
Services The EAP provides the following general activities:
1. Expert consultation and training to appropriate persons in the identification and resolution of job performance issues related to behavior, medical problems.
2. Confidential, appropriate and timely assessment services.
3. Referrals for appropriate diagnosis, treatment and assistance.
4. The formation of linkages between workplace and community resources that provide such services.
5. Follow-up services for employees who use those services.
Location & Hours The EAP office is located in the Zeidler Municipal Building, 841 N. Broadway, Rm 315. Office hours are:
10:00am - 7:00pm Monday (5:00pm in-person consultations and 6:00pm-7:00pm phone consultations)
8:00am - 4:45pm Tuesday – Friday
After hour emergencies are directed to the County Crisis unit at 257-7222.
