Congratulations to you and the staff at the Milwaukee County Parks on being selected as a Finalist for the National Gold Medal Awards. Serving as an NRPA Board of Trustee, I am fully aware of what a prestigious honor it is to have been selected as a Finalist. This truly means that the Milwaukee County Parks is already considered one of the premiere park and recreation organizations in the nation!
It would be wonderful if the Milwaukee County Parks became the first Gold Medal winner in Wisconsin. However, it should not be underestimated what a huge accomplishment you and your staff have already obtained in reaching the Finalist stage. This is an extremely rigorous process that the judges have established for this national award, and it cannot be stressed enough that by becoming a Finalist, you have already established the Milwaukee County Park System as a truly exemplary organization that is now considered as one of the best-of-the-best!
KUDOS to you and your staff! I will be in Salt Lake City cheering you on.
